Yakushji- Ji Temple, is one of the most popular Buddhist Temple in Japan. The temple is a famous ancient imperial shrine in Japan. The shrine is considered as one of the Seven Great Temples of Nanto. It is also the headquarters of the Hosso school of Japanese Buddhism. The shrine was then declared as a UNESCO World Heritage site. It was also listed as ‘Historic Monument of Ancient Nara’. The shrine derives its name from ‘Yakushi Nyroi’ who was also known as ‘The Medicine Buddha’, he was the first Buddhist Deities to land in Japan from China in the year 680.
