The story of the foundation of the shrine Yakcheonsa Temple is not known, there are no records found. The Yakcheonsa Temple is located few miles from Jungmun, and is easily accessible by bike or taxi. The stunning temple lacks historical value, but is a treat to visit intricate decoration in spite of colossal size. Its 4-storey hall is one of the biggest in Asia, and also one of the most impressive in the country. Also the huge golden Buddha at the center adds charm to the shrine, the center Buddha can be best viewed from the upper level. While, the upper level is also crowded by thousands of figurines of Buddha. The best time to visit this place is in summer, when the interior glow with sunlight adds more charm to the shrine. The birds call adds more resonance to the bell which marks the beginning to the service.
