- La Compania in Quito
This church is located in the heart of the city of Quito which is the capital of Ecuador. The church known as the Church of the Society of Jesus is perhaps the best cathedral known. It is also termed as “La Iglesia de la Compania de Jesus” The church built in early 1600 and the design of the church is a unique example of the Baroque architecture. The expansive use of gold leaf over the central nave of the church is marvelous.
Copotaxi is one of the highest active volcanoes in the world. Copotaxi is the second highest peak with the height of 19347 feet, the volcano has glaciers starting at the height of 16400 feet. There are more than 50 eruptions since 1738, though presently it has quietened a lot.
- Nariz del Diablo
Nariz del Doablo is one of the most stunning engineering project, it is a train line connecting the two towns Alausi and Sibambe. The track has taken many human lives while completion, so it is also termed as “Devil’s Nose” The track which is in the Andes range of mountains offers the traveller’s lovely view of the countryside.
- Wildlife reserve of Cuyabeno
This wildlife reserve appeal to the visitors as it is full of scenic beauty as well as wildlife. There are more than 500 species of birds with monkeys, tapirs anacondas along with butterflies and plenty of insects and other animals. The Cuyabeno Wildlife reserve is in Orellana Province, is the second largest national parks in Ecuador.
Tena is a great opportunity for jungle adventure, located in the Amazon rainforest region in Ecuador. The flourishing cinnamon industry enabled the missionaries to establish the city here. Tena is regarded by adventurous as the best spot for whitewater rafting and kayaking.
- Galapagos Islands
This is a small archipelago of volcanic islands in the Pacific Ocean. Though these belong to Ecuador many of them are quite remote and far, some of them almost 1000 km away. These islands are popular for the unique ecosystem, there are tortoises, sea lions, penguins along with wide variety of birds. There is a strict control on the visitors’ access, to safeguard and protect the natural habitat.
- Otavalo Market
One of the most favoured activity amongst the tourists is shopping for mementos, and the market is the most ideal place for this. The tourists can see and buy local art and craft items and clothings in the market of Otavalo. Every Saturday there is a wide collection of jewellery, wood and stone carvings offered for sale in addition to the woven clothes.

The San Francisco Church and the adjoining old town area are an important cultural center in Latin America. Construction of the church began in 1550, the church complex is massive which includes an adjoining museum, covering almost two blocks.
