Bali is known for its photogenic temples. Pura Ulun Danu Temple is a Balinese temple located in sub district of Baturiti. The temple is located 50km from Depasar Town on north side toward Singaraja. The name ‘Ulun Danu Beratan Temple’ was derived from name of lake where the temple was proposed and built. The Lake name ‘Beratan Lake’ is attached with Beratan Mount. The Beratan Mount is considered as Goddess of fertility source, prosperity, Society life and many more. In Papyrus, this temple is referred as ‘Parhyangan Ri Pinggiring Danu Beratan’. While the word ‘Ulun’ is Hulu word, which means power, while the word Ulun Danu Beratan means Power of Lake Beratan which is Danu Goddess.

Temple Complex:

The temple was founded by Gusti Agung Putu to worship Hyang Ing Parwata which is placed in Pucak Mount. The Lingga Petak Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The other Terate Bang Temple is dedicated to Lord Brahma. While, the Dalem Purwa Temple is dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi or Bhatara Hyang Danawa.
