Do you believe in Ghost? Answer to this question will be probably ‘Yes’ or ‘No’. Well, if you are strong by heart and strong nonbeliever in Ghost, spirits and so. There is an island you can pay visit for called as ‘Isla De Las Munecas’. Let me warn before proceeding more on this, this island situated in south of Mexico amid of canal Xochimico. The Isla De Las Munecas is also known as Island of Dolls for its grave background and an incident that took place. Unlike other places, this place has no tourist destination nor that popular with other leisure amenities.
Story behind this Place:
Today the island is inhabited with few people. The reason behind this is, the small island is shelter for hundreds of scary and petrifying dolls. The dolls are hanged on tree in complete horrifying conditions like decapitated head, cut limbs, torn eyes and so. These Dolls are complete scary under day-light, the condition gets worst in dark night or so.
History behind the Isla De Las Munecas:
According to the legends and locals of this Island, the island is haunted by a spirit of a girl who lost her life after drowning in water in a complete mysterious condition. The girl drowned several years back, after which her spirit moves across the island and on the dolls hanged on trees. Some might believe on this story, while some might say this is complete crap!
Well, believe it or not! This piece of story, is not just a story but a true element. Local have also experience petrifying incidents with them. They say, dolls move their arms, heads and also open their eyes many times. Some tourist visiting this place, have also witnessed some weird acts like dolls whispering to each other. While few who were boat experienced a strange sight like dolls luring at them and coming down on island.
Very few believe that the place is haunted, while other say indeed the place is haunted. The truth behind Island is, the place is surely a creepy island.
Narration by the Legend:
Several years back a man named ‘Don Julian Santana Barrera’, was caretaker of the Island. He found a little girl with a doll in hand drowning in water in complete mysterious condition. Don Julian made few attempts, but was unable to save the girl. Shortly, a doll came floating to him near the canal. The doll probably belonged to the little girl drowned.
Don Julian Santana Barrera picked the doll and hung on the nearest tree, to pay a tribute and respect to spirit of the girl. According to locals, Julian was haunted by the spirit of dead little girl. He started hanging more and more dolls to please her spirit. While, few who were close to Julian say that, the unseen force which made little girl drowned changed Julian in complete way. In year 2001, the caretaker was found dead, even after this there are several paranormal activity happening around the place.
Today the place is owned by ‘Anastasio Valasquez’. He too has experienced few paranormal incident like doll moving its head and so. The Island Isla De Las Munecas, owned by Valaquez was also featured on TV show called ‘Destination Truth’.
Today, the place Isla De Las Munecas is open for visiting by the tourist, where you can see several Dolls hung around on trees or walls to create an Island of Dolls.
