Fakarava, a popular Island of French Polynesia. It is an atoll of the Tuamotu group in French Polynesia, also second largest of Tuamotu atolls. The Atoll is roughly rectangular in shape with width of 21km and 60km long. It is a wide and deep lagoon with 1,112sq-km of surface. Passe Garuae is the main pass to enter the lagoon which is located at the north-western end, while the other pass is a southern pass which is known as Tumakohua which is 16-km2. Rotoava is the main village of Fakarava, with 855 inhabitants.

It might not attract to the majority of people. But the place holds worthy charismatic and scenic view around. The protected corals and rare species of animals, plants and birds around makes the place special. The place is protected by UNESCO Biosphere reserve, due to its precious flora & fauna.
